Most consumers are confused and intimidated with a mattress purchase because of the many options and facts and figures that are thrown at them during the buying process.
At Slumberbox we make it simple!
Don’t be deceived by fancy foam names – ALL mattress foams are memory foam! (All foam has a memory that causes it to return to shape).
Mattress Foams are made up of a foam mixture and air. Higher Density Foams have more foam mixture and smaller air pockets, thus making them heavier.
Density (1.3 / 1.5 /1.9) is the weight of 1 cubic foot of a particular foam product. (i.e. – 1 cubic foot of 1.5 density foam weighs 1.5 lbs.)
Mattresses can be bought in various weights. Why is weight important?
It’s really quite easy – All mattresses are the same volume. So, if a mattress of a certain size weights more than another mattress of the same size, then it is safe to assume the heavier mattress is of better quality and will last longer.
The higher the density, the slower the mattress returns to shape (because it has less air space in it!) and as a result the slower returning mattress will last longer.
